The MDC 16 Island is a dream for anyone who loves cooking on the go. The outdoor kitchen is a favorite of mine, featuring ample storage for utensils and supplies, a robust three-burner propane stove, and a sink with hot and cold water. The large burner offers 9800 BTU, and the smaller ones provide 6300 BTU each, outperforming many other trailers’ stoves. Inside, you’ll find the same high-quality stove and a well-equipped kitchen with a Furion hood vent. Whether you’re cooking inside or out, you’ll have everything you need for a great meal.
My favorite part about having two kitchens is the options. If the weather is bad, you can stay inside and still cook a great meal. Or, if you’re cooking a big meal, you and your partner can tag-team by using both kitchens.
3. Abundant Storage Space
Having a place for everything while traveling is critical. You don’t want to pack stuff in the backseat of your truck. Luckily, the MDC 16 Island excels in this area. Unlike many other trailers, this model offers extensive storage options. You’ll find storage above the booth, kitchen, and bed, as well as under the bed. The bathroom also features generous storage, including a secret compartment for dirty clothes. This abundance of storage means you can bring all your essentials for extended trips without worrying about space.
Seriously, the amount of storage in this trailer is better than most I have seen. From the bathroom to the bed area, you will have a spot for all your essential adventuring needs.
4. Comfortable Island Bed
The main reason you buy a camper is for a comfortable sleeping space at night. You want to be away from the elements, but you also don’t want to go back to the days of sleeping in a tent on a thin pad, often getting terrible sleep and waking up dreading the hikes you had planned.
The “island” in MDC 16 Island refers to its island bed, a north-to-south bed that you can walk around. This design is perfect for couples, as it allows each person to get in and out of bed without disturbing the other. At night, the bed extends to provide a queen-size sleeping area. The mattress is 9 inches thick, offering plenty of comfort. I’ve slept in the MDC trailers, and I can personally attest to the comfort of the mattresses. Every morning after staying in the MDC, I wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead. If you have specific mattress preferences, you can always take out the provided mattress and put in any queen mattress you like.
5. Mood Lighting
Now, this one is for fun. A unique feature of the MDC 16 Island is its mood lighting, part of the special 15th-anniversary edition. Controlled via your phone, the RGB lighting system lets you set the perfect ambiance inside the trailer.
