Who Has The Best Selection Of Off Road Trailers In The U.S.?

There are so many trailer dealers in the U.S. Every state as not just one, but a multitude of them. I’m not talking about a dozen or so either. No. In the US there are over 2500 RV dealerships. If you went to one every single day it would take around three years to see them all! I don’t know about you, but that is a little too much for me, even if gas money wasn’t involved. What we need to do is narrow things down. We need to find the ones that have the best selection of trailers rather than just go to each and every one.

The first point to narrow things down, even before looking at a single dealership is to ask yourself what kind of trailer you want. Do you want the average Joe’s travel trailer that you can park in a camping ground? Or do you want something more rugged that can go away from the paved roads and the campgrounds? If you are looking for the former, I’m afraid it will only narrow you search down a little bit. Travel trailers are very common after all. On the other hand, if you are the adventurous type and are yearning for one of those rugged off road campers, then you’re in luck. This article is going to be focused on the off road variety of trailers and who has the best selection of them.

Off Road Campers VS The Average Travel Trailer

Assuming you are still reading, then you are indeed looking into off road campers. Let me briefly tell you about off road trailers and then one of the very best places to find them.

There are some things that really set off road campers apart from your average travel trailer, even from the popular ones like Airstream. The first and arguably biggest difference is found under the trailer. I’m talking about the suspension. That’s right, many people are focused on the tires when wanting to take things onto the rough roads, but the suspension is actually a bigger deal than the tires.

regular suspension ROARoamer|ATXSuspension

Suspension

The vast majority of trailers you see on the roads are equipped with solid axels, which are fine for the paved road, but not for the rugged trails. a solid axel doesn’t allow trailer to move as it needs to, to get over the many obstacles you find away from the paved roads.

independent suspension on the other hand is what the good off road trailers are equipped with. it allows the tires to move independently of each other. that means the bumpy roads, rocks, pot-holes and any number of other obstacles be such an issue. going over a big rock won’t lift your whole trails up sides and threaten capsizing it and taking you along for the ride. instead, the independent suspension allows for pivoting and moving up and down without an issue. the towing experience is many times better and safer when you choose independent suspension.

Think of it this way. comparing a low riding sports car and a lifted jeep. which one do you think would be able to handle a rocky mountain pass or a stream? it’s quite clear when you think of it that. that is a perfect comparison between solid axel suspension and independent suspension. It isn’t that one or the other is bad, but each one excels in certain environments. So, if you are wanting to leave the campgrounds behind, then you will want an off road trailer and independent suspension.

A Second Thing About Off Road Trailers

Something else that sets off road campers apart from your average RV is the quality of components. From locking laches and tougher bodies to more secure construction, they are made to take a beating. Just think about it. Your camper is more or less a house. When you are off-roading it is like putting your house through an earthquake, which could easily destroy a house or at the very least displace some components. Off road trailers, however, were built with this in mind. They are built with an added helping of earthquake resistance.

Let me give you another comparison regarding the quality of off road campers. When you look at cars you might start to notice that certain kinds cost a whole lot more than others, right? But why does something like a SUV, which is bigger and has more seating than a Lamborghini cost so much less? Shouldn’t the bigger vehicle cost more? Now, if you know anything about cars this probably sounds silly. Of course the Lamborghini costs more! The quality of the parts used for one is substantially better than the other. That’s exactly how it is when you look at your usual trailers, compared to off road ones. Off road trailers are the Lamborghinis of the RV world.

There is more that sets an off road camper apart from the trailers that stick to the pavement, but I think this is plenty to consider for now. That being the case, let’s talk about where to find these rugged campers.

Who Has The Best Selection Of Off Road Trailers?

Now we have arrived at the main reason for this Article. Let’s talk about where these trailers can be found and then take a look at the selection.

First things first. ROA OFF-ROAD is an off road dealership that has the best selection of off road campers in the U.S. If that were all it would be a big deal, but it doesn’t stop there. ROA isn’t your average off road dealer, in fact calling them a dealer isn’t the best way to describe them. An experience center would be more accurate. Unlike other dealers out there that are all about the transaction, ROA is different. They have created an after purchase experience like no other. They actually invite customers back to go on adventures and excursions, rather than hoping to never see the buyer again.

As for ROA’s selection, they have a wide selection of the best quality off road campers you will ever stumble across.

There is one more thing I want to say about ROA’s selection before we jump in. All of their units have independent suspension with the exception of Taxa trailers. The taxa units don’t have independent suspension unless you get the overland addition of the trailer. With that said, let’s take a look at all of these off road kings!
